2026-07-21iommu/intel: Fix out-of-bounds memset in dmar_latency_disable()Li RongQing1-1/+1
dmar_latency_disable() intends to zero out only the single latency_statistic entry for the given type, but the memset size was computed as sizeof(*lstat) * DMAR_LATENCY_NUM, which clears the entire array starting from &lstat[type]. When type > 0, this writes beyond the end of the allocated array, corrupting adjacent memory. Fix by using sizeof(*lstat) to clear only the target entry. 2026-02-21treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar typesKees Cook1-2/+2
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union object instances: Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...) Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...) Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...) (where TYPE may also be *VAR) The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning "TYPE *". Signed-off-by: Kees Cook <kees@kernel.org>
2025-09-19iommu/vt-d: Replace snprintf with scnprintf in dmar_latency_snapshot()Seyediman Seyedarab1-6/+4
snprintf() returns the number of bytes that would have been written, not the number actually written. Using this for offset tracking can cause buffer overruns if truncation occurs. Replace snprintf() with scnprintf() to ensure the offset stays within bounds. Since scnprintf() never returns a negative value, and zero is not possible in this context because 'bytes' starts at 0 and 'size - bytes' is DEBUG_BUFFER_SIZE in the first call, which is large enough to hold the string literals used, the return value is always positive. An integer overflow is also completely out of reach here due to the small and fixed buffer size. The error check in latency_show_one() is therefore unnecessary. Remove it and make dmar_latency_snapshot() return void. 2024-03-01iommu/vt-d: Use kcalloc() instead of kzalloc()Erick Archer1-1/+1
This is an effort to get rid of all multiplications from allocation functions in order to prevent integer overflows [1]. Here the multiplication is obviously safe because DMAR_LATENCY_NUM is the number of latency types defined in the "latency_type" enum. enum latency_type { DMAR_LATENCY_INV_IOTLB = 0, DMAR_LATENCY_INV_DEVTLB, DMAR_LATENCY_INV_IEC, DMAR_LATENCY_PRQ, DMAR_LATENCY_NUM }; However, using kcalloc() is more appropriate [2] and improves readability. This patch has no effect on runtime behavior. 2021-06-10iommu/vt-d: Fix linker error on 32-bitJoerg Roedel1-3/+3
A recent commit broke the build on 32-bit x86. The linker throws these messages: ld: drivers/iommu/intel/perf.o: in function `dmar_latency_snapshot': perf.c:(.text+0x40c): undefined reference to `__udivdi3' ld: perf.c:(.text+0x458): undefined reference to `__udivdi3' The reason are the 64-bit divides in dmar_latency_snapshot(). Use the div_u64() helper function for those. 2021-06-10iommu/vt-d: Add common code for dmar latency performance monitorsLu Baolu1-0/+166
The execution time of some operations is very performance critical, such as cache invalidation and PRQ processing time. This adds some common code to monitor the execution time range of those operations. The interfaces include enabling/disabling, checking status, updating sampling data and providing a common string format for users.
