11 daystreewide: refresh kmalloc_obj() conversionsKees Cook1-2/+1
This is another run of the Coccinelle script for converting kmalloc() family of allocations to kmalloc_obj() via the existing rules in scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci This catches both the set of kmalloc() uses added since the first kmalloc_obj() conversions in v7.0 and adds a large group missed in the first pass due to Coccinelle not interacting well with the cleanup.h scoped_...() family of macros[1]. I worked around this with spatch's "--macro-file" argument to a file with all the scoped_...() macros mapped to Coccinelle's YACFE_ITERATOR[2] as that was the closest viable control flow indicator I could find. Build tested allmodconfig on x86, arm64, arm, loongarch, mips, powerpc, riscv, and s390 with no new warnings. 2026-06-08ima: Support staging and deleting N measurements recordsRoberto Sassu1-1/+64
Add support for sending a value N between 1 and ULONG_MAX to the IMA original measurement interface. This value represents the number of measurements that should be deleted from the current measurements list. In this case, measurements are staged in an internal non-user visible list, and immediately deleted. This staging method allows the remote attestation agents to easily separate the measurements that were verified (staged and deleted) from those that weren't due to the race between taking a TPM quote and reading the measurements list. In order to minimize the locking time of ima_extend_list_mutex, deleting N records is realized by doing a lockless walk in the current measurements list to determine the N-th entry to cut, to cut the current measurements list under the lock, and by deleting the excess records after releasing the lock. Flushing the hash table is not supported for N records, since it would require removing the N records one by one from the hash table under the ima_extend_list_mutex lock, which would increase the locking time. 2026-06-08ima: Add support for flushing the hash table when staging measurementsRoberto Sassu1-6/+35
During staging and delete, measurements are not completely deallocated. Their entry digest portion is kept and is still reachable with the hash table to detect duplicate records. If the number of records is significant, this reduces the memory saving benefit of staging. Some users might be interested in achieving the best memory saving (the measurements are completely deallocated) at the cost of having duplicate records across the staged measurement lists. Duplicate records are still avoided within the current measurement list. Introduce the new kernel option ima_flush_htable to decide whether or not the digests of staged measurement records are flushed from the hash table, when they are deleted, to achieve the maximum memory saving. When the option is enabled, replace the old hash table with a new one, by calling ima_alloc_replace_htable(), and completely delete the measurements records. 2026-06-08ima: Add support for staging measurements with promptRoberto Sassu1-1/+139
Introduce the ability of staging the IMA measurement list and deleting them with a prompt. Staging means moving the current measurement list records to a separate location, and allowing users to read and delete it. This causes the current measurement list to be emptied (since records were moved) and new measurements to be added on the empty list. Staging can be done only once at a time. In the event of kexec(), staging is aborted and staged records will be carried over to the new kernel. Introduce ascii_runtime_measurements_<algo>_staged and binary_runtime_measurements_<algo>_staged interfaces to access and delete the measurements. Use 'echo A > <IMA _staged interface>' and 'echo D > <IMA _staged interface>' to respectively stage and delete the entire measurements list. Locking of these interfaces is also mediated with a call to _ima_measurements_open() and with ima_measurements_release(). Implement the staging functionality by introducing the new global measurements list ima_measurements_staged, and ima_queue_stage() and ima_queue_staged_delete_all() to respectively move measurements from the current measurements list to the staged one, and to move staged measurements to the ima_measurements_trim list for deletion. Introduce ima_queue_delete() to delete the measurements. Staging is forbidden after measurement is suspended, and between staging and deleting, so that walking the staged and current measurements list can be done locklessly in ima_dump_measurement_list(). Strict ordering of suspending and dumping is enforced by two reboot notifiers with different priority. Refusing to delete staged measurements also signals to user space that those measurements are already carried over to the secondary kernel, so that it does not save them twice. Finally, introduce the BINARY_STAGED and BINARY_FULL binary measurements list types, to maintain the counters and the binary size of staged measurements and the full measurements list (including records that were staged). BINARY still represents the current binary measurements list. Use the binary size for the BINARY + BINARY_STAGED types in ima_add_kexec_buffer(), since both measurements list types are copied to the secondary kernel during kexec. Use BINARY_FULL in ima_measure_kexec_event(), to generate a critical data record. It should be noted that the BINARY_FULL counter is not passed through kexec. Thus, the number of records included in the kexec critical data records refers to the records since the critical data records generated from the previous kexec event. 2026-06-08ima: Introduce per binary measurements list type binary_runtime_size valueRoberto Sassu1-12/+28
Make binary_runtime_size as an array, to have separate counters per binary measurements list type. Currently, define the BINARY type for the existing binary measurements list. Introduce ima_update_binary_runtime_size() to facilitate updating a binary_runtime_size value with a given binary measurement list type. Also add the binary measurements list type parameter to ima_get_binary_runtime_size(), to retrieve the desired value. Retrieving the value is now done under the ima_extend_list_mutex, since there can be concurrent updates. No functional change (except for the mutex usage, that fixes the concurrency issue): the BINARY array element is equivalent to the old binary_runtime_size. 2026-06-08ima: Replace static htable queue with dynamically allocated arrayRoberto Sassu1-5/+43
The IMA hash table is a fixed-size array of hlist_head buckets: struct hlist_head ima_htable[IMA_MEASURE_HTABLE_SIZE]; IMA_MEASURE_HTABLE_SIZE is (1 << IMA_HASH_BITS) = 1024 buckets, each a struct hlist_head (one pointer, 8 bytes on 64-bit). That is 8 KiB allocated in BSS for every kernel, regardless of whether IMA is ever used, and regardless of how many measurements are actually made. Replace the fixed-size array with a RCU-protected pointer to a dynamically allocated array that is initialized in ima_init_htable(), which is called from ima_init() during early boot. ima_init_htable() calls the static function ima_alloc_replace_htable() which, other than initializing the hash table the first time, can also hot-swap the existing hash table with a blank one. The allocation in ima_alloc_replace_htable() uses kcalloc() so the buckets are zero-initialised (equivalent to HLIST_HEAD_INIT { .first = NULL }). Callers of ima_alloc_replace_htable() must call synchronize_rcu() and free the returned hash table. Finally, access the hash table with rcu_dereference() in ima_lookup_digest_entry() (reader side) and with rcu_dereference_protected() in ima_add_digest_entry() (writer side). No functional change: bucket count, hash function, and all locking remain identical. 2026-06-08ima: Remove ima_h_table structureRoberto Sassu1-7/+8
The ima_h_table structure is a collection of IMA measurement list metadata - number of records in the IMA measurement list, number of integrity violations, and a hash table containing the IMA template data hash, needed to prevent measurement list record duplication. Removing records from the measurement list needs to be reflected in the hash table. As a pre-req to removing records from the measurement list, separate those counters from the hash table, remove the ima_h_table structure, and just replace the hash table pointer. Finally, rename ima_show_htable_value(), ima_show_htable_violations() and ima_htable_violations_ops respectively to ima_show_counter(), ima_show_num_violations() and ima_num_violations_ops. 2026-02-21Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argumentLinus Torvalds1-1/+1
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' | xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/' to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL argument to just drop that argument. Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered: they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically. For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate conversion. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2026-02-21treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar typesKees Cook1-3/+3
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union object instances: Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...) Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...) Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...) (where TYPE may also be *VAR) The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning "TYPE *". Signed-off-by: Kees Cook <kees@kernel.org>
2025-04-29ima: measure kexec load and exec events as critical dataSteven Chen1-0/+5
The amount of memory allocated at kexec load, even with the extra memory allocated, might not be large enough for the entire measurement list. The indeterminate interval between kexec 'load' and 'execute' could exacerbate this problem. Define two new IMA events, 'kexec_load' and 'kexec_execute', to be measured as critical data at kexec 'load' and 'execute' respectively. Report the allocated kexec segment size, IMA binary log size and the runtime measurements count as part of those events. These events, and the values reported through them, serve as markers in the IMA log to verify the IMA events are captured during kexec soft reboot. The presence of a 'kexec_load' event in between the last two 'boot_aggregate' events in the IMA log implies this is a kexec soft reboot, and not a cold-boot. And the absence of 'kexec_execute' event after kexec soft reboot implies missing events in that window which results in inconsistency with TPM PCR quotes, necessitating a cold boot for a successful remote attestation. These critical data events are displayed as hex encoded ascii in the ascii_runtime_measurement_list. Verifying the critical data hash requires calculating the hash of the decoded ascii string. For example, to verify the 'kexec_load' data hash: sudo cat /sys/kernel/security/integrity/ima/ascii_runtime_measurements | grep kexec_load | cut -d' ' -f 6 | xxd -r -p | sha256sum To verify the 'kexec_execute' data hash: sudo cat /sys/kernel/security/integrity/ima/ascii_runtime_measurements | grep kexec_execute | cut -d' ' -f 6 | xxd -r -p | sha256sum Co-developed-by: Tushar Sugandhi <tusharsu@linux.microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Tushar Sugandhi <tusharsu@linux.microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Steven Chen <chenste@linux.microsoft.com> Reviewed-by: Stefan Berger <stefanb@linux.ibm.com> Acked-by: Baoquan He <bhe@redhat.com> Tested-by: Stefan Berger <stefanb@linux.ibm.com> # ppc64/kvm Signed-off-by: Mimi Zohar <zohar@linux.ibm.com>
2024-12-11ima: Suspend PCR extends and log appends when rebootingStefan Berger1-0/+44
To avoid the following types of error messages due to a failure by the TPM driver to use the TPM, suspend TPM PCR extensions and the appending of entries to the IMA log once IMA's reboot notifier has been called. This avoids trying to use the TPM after the TPM subsystem has been shut down. [111707.685315][ T1] ima: Error Communicating to TPM chip, result: -19 [111707.685960][ T1] ima: Error Communicating to TPM chip, result: -19 Synchronization with the ima_extend_list_mutex to set ima_measurements_suspended ensures that the TPM subsystem is not shut down when IMA holds the mutex while appending to the log and extending the PCR. The alternative of reading the system_state variable would not provide this guarantee. This error could be observed on a ppc64 machine running SuSE Linux where processes are still accessing files after devices have been shut down. Suspending the IMA log and PCR extensions shortly before reboot does not seem to open a significant measurement gap since neither TPM quoting would work for attestation nor that new log entries could be written to anywhere after devices have been shut down. However, there's a time window between the invocation of the reboot notifier and the shutdown of devices. This includes all subsequently invoked reboot notifiers as well as kernel_restart_prepare() where __usermodehelper_disable() waits for all running_helpers to exit. During this time window IMA could now miss log entries even though attestation would still work. The reboot of the system shortly after may make this small gap insignificant. 2021-06-11IMA: support for duplicate measurement recordsTushar Sugandhi1-2/+3
IMA measures contents of a given file/buffer/critical-data record, and properly re-measures it on change. However, IMA does not measure the duplicate value for a given record, since TPM extend is a very expensive operation. For example, if the record changes from value 'v#1' to 'v#2', and then back to 'v#1', IMA will not measure and log the last change to 'v#1', since the hash of 'v#1' for that record is already present in the IMA htable. This limits the ability of an external attestation service to accurately determine the current state of the system. The service would incorrectly conclude that the latest value of the given record on the system is 'v#2', and act accordingly. Define and use a new Kconfig option IMA_DISABLE_HTABLE to permit duplicate records in the IMA measurement list. In addition to the duplicate measurement records described above, other duplicate file measurement records may be included in the log, when CONFIG_IMA_DISABLE_HTABLE is enabled. For example, - i_version is not enabled, - i_generation changed, - same file present on different filesystems, - an inode is evicted from dcache Signed-off-by: Tushar Sugandhi <tusharsu@linux.microsoft.com> Reviewed-by: Petr Vorel <pvorel@suse.cz> [zohar@linux.ibm.com: updated list of duplicate measurement records] Signed-off-by: Mimi Zohar <zohar@linux.ibm.com>

2020-04-19ima: Use ima_hash_algo for collision detection in the measurement listRoberto Sassu1-4/+4
Before calculating a digest for each PCR bank, collisions were detected with a SHA1 digest. This patch includes ima_hash_algo among the algorithms used to calculate the template digest and checks collisions on that digest. The position in the measurement entry array of the template digest calculated with the IMA default hash algorithm is stored in the ima_hash_algo_idx global variable and is determined at IMA initialization time. 2020-04-19ima: Calculate and extend PCR with digests in ima_template_entryRoberto Sassu1-12/+18
This patch modifies ima_calc_field_array_hash() to calculate a template digest for each allocated PCR bank and SHA1. It also passes the tpm_digest array of the template entry to ima_pcr_extend() or in case of a violation, the pre-initialized digests array filled with 0xff. Padding with zeros is still done if the mapping between TPM algorithm ID and crypto ID is unknown. This patch calculates again the template digest when a measurement list is restored. Copying only the SHA1 digest (due to the limitation of the current measurement list format) is not sufficient, as hash collision detection will be done on the digest calculated with the IMA default hash algorithm. 2020-04-19ima: Switch to dynamically allocated buffer for template digestsRoberto Sassu1-4/+6
This patch dynamically allocates the array of tpm_digest structures in ima_alloc_init_template() and ima_restore_template_data(). The size of the array is equal to the number of PCR banks plus ima_extra_slots, to make room for SHA1 and the IMA default hash algorithm, when PCR banks with those algorithms are not allocated. Calculating the SHA1 digest is mandatory, as SHA1 still remains the default hash algorithm for the measurement list. When IMA will support the Crypto Agile format, remaining digests will be also provided. The position in the measurement entry array of the SHA1 digest is stored in the ima_sha1_idx global variable and is determined at IMA initialization time. 2019-02-13tpm: pass an array of tpm_extend_digest structures to tpm_pcr_extend()Roberto Sassu1-1/+26
Currently, tpm_pcr_extend() accepts as an input only a SHA1 digest. This patch replaces the hash parameter of tpm_pcr_extend() with an array of tpm_digest structures, so that the caller can provide a digest for each PCR bank currently allocated in the TPM. tpm_pcr_extend() will not extend banks for which no digest was provided, as it happened before this patch, but instead it requires that callers provide the full set of digests. Since the number of digests will always be chip->nr_allocated_banks, the count parameter has been removed. Due to the API change, ima_pcr_extend() and pcrlock() have been modified. Since the number of allocated banks is not known in advance, the memory for the digests must be dynamically allocated. To avoid performance degradation and to avoid that a PCR extend is not done due to lack of memory, the array of tpm_digest structures is allocated by the users of the TPM driver at initialization time. 2018-12-12security: audit and remove any unnecessary uses of module.hPaul Gortmaker1-1/+0
Historically a lot of these existed because we did not have a distinction between what was modular code and what was providing support to modules via EXPORT_SYMBOL and friends. That changed when we forked out support for the latter into the export.h file. This means we should be able to reduce the usage of module.h in code that is obj-y Makefile or bool Kconfig. The advantage in removing such instances is that module.h itself sources about 15 other headers; adding significantly to what we feed cpp, and it can obscure what headers we are effectively using. Since module.h might have been the implicit source for init.h (for __init) and for export.h (for EXPORT_SYMBOL) we consider each instance for the presence of either and replace as needed. 2016-12-20ima: on soft reboot, restore the measurement listMimi Zohar1-0/+10
The TPM PCRs are only reset on a hard reboot. In order to validate a TPM's quote after a soft reboot (eg. kexec -e), the IMA measurement list of the running kernel must be saved and restored on boot. This patch restores the measurement list. 2016-06-30ima: redefine duplicate template entriesEric Richter1-3/+4
Template entry duplicates are prevented from being added to the measurement list by checking a hash table that contains the template entry digests. However, the PCR value is not included in this comparison, so duplicate template entry digests with differing PCRs may be dropped. This patch redefines duplicate template entries as template entries with the same digest and same PCR values. 2014-03-07integrity: fix checkpatch errorsDmitry Kasatkin1-2/+2
Between checkpatch changes (eg. sizeof) and inconsistencies between Lindent and checkpatch, unfixed checkpatch errors make it difficult to see new errors. This patch fixes them. 2013-10-25ima: pass the filename argument up to ima_add_template_entry()Roberto Sassu1-3/+3
Pass the filename argument to ima_add_template_entry() in order to eliminate a dependency on template specific data (third argument of integrity_audit_msg). This change is required because, with the new template management mechanism, the generation of a new measurement entry will be performed by new specific functions (introduced in next patches) and the current IMA code will not be aware anymore of how data is stored in the entry payload. 2013-10-25ima: differentiate between template hash and file data hash sizesMimi Zohar1-2/+2
The TPM v1.2 limits the template hash size to 20 bytes. This patch differentiates between the template hash size, as defined in the ima_template_entry, and the file data hash size, as defined in the ima_template_data. Subsequent patches add support for different file data hash algorithms. Change log: - hash digest definition in ima_store_template() should be TPM_DIGEST_SIZE Signed-off-by: Mimi Zohar <zohar@us.ibm.com>
2013-02-27hlist: drop the node parameter from iteratorsSasha Levin1-2/+1
I'm not sure why, but the hlist for each entry iterators were conceived list_for_each_entry(pos, head, member) The hlist ones were greedy and wanted an extra parameter: hlist_for_each_entry(tpos, pos, head, member) Why did they need an extra pos parameter? I'm not quite sure. Not only they don't really need it, it also prevents the iterator from looking exactly like the list iterator, which is unfortunate. Besides the semantic patch, there was some manual work required: - Fix up the actual hlist iterators in linux/list.h - Fix up the declaration of other iterators based on the hlist ones. - A very small amount of places were using the 'node' parameter, this was modified to use 'obj->member' instead. - Coccinelle didn't handle the hlist_for_each_entry_safe iterator properly, so those had to be fixed up manually. The semantic patch which is mostly the work of Peter Senna Tschudin is here: @@ iterator name hlist_for_each_entry, hlist_for_each_entry_continue, hlist_for_each_entry_from, hlist_for_each_entry_rcu, hlist_for_each_entry_rcu_bh, hlist_for_each_entry_continue_rcu_bh, for_each_busy_worker, ax25_uid_for_each, ax25_for_each, inet_bind_bucket_for_each, sctp_for_each_hentry, sk_for_each, sk_for_each_rcu, sk_for_each_from, sk_for_each_safe, sk_for_each_bound, hlist_for_each_entry_safe, hlist_for_each_entry_continue_rcu, nr_neigh_for_each, nr_neigh_for_each_safe, nr_node_for_each, nr_node_for_each_safe, for_each_gfn_indirect_valid_sp, for_each_gfn_sp, for_each_host; type T; expression a,c,d,e; identifier b; statement S; @@ -T b; <+... when != b ( hlist_for_each_entry(a, - b, c, d) S | hlist_for_each_entry_continue(a, - b, c) S | hlist_for_each_entry_from(a, - b, c) S | hlist_for_each_entry_rcu(a, - b, c, d) S | hlist_for_each_entry_rcu_bh(a, - b, c, d) S | hlist_for_each_entry_continue_rcu_bh(a, - b, c) S | for_each_busy_worker(a, c, - b, d) S | ax25_uid_for_each(a, - b, c) S | ax25_for_each(a, - b, c) S | inet_bind_bucket_for_each(a, - b, c) S | sctp_for_each_hentry(a, - b, c) S | sk_for_each(a, - b, c) S | sk_for_each_rcu(a, - b, c) S | sk_for_each_from -(a, b) +(a) S + sk_for_each_from(a) S | sk_for_each_safe(a, - b, c, d) S | sk_for_each_bound(a, - b, c) S | hlist_for_each_entry_safe(a, - b, c, d, e) S | hlist_for_each_entry_continue_rcu(a, - b, c) S | nr_neigh_for_each(a, - b, c) S | nr_neigh_for_each_safe(a, - b, c, d) S | nr_node_for_each(a, - b, c) S | nr_node_for_each_safe(a, - b, c, d) S | - for_each_gfn_sp(a, c, d, b) S + for_each_gfn_sp(a, c, d) S | - for_each_gfn_indirect_valid_sp(a, c, d, b) S + for_each_gfn_indirect_valid_sp(a, c, d) S | for_each_host(a, - b, c) S | for_each_host_safe(a, - b, c, d) S | for_each_mesh_entry(a, - b, c, d) S ) ...+> [akpm@linux-foundation.org: drop bogus change from net/ipv4/raw.c] [akpm@linux-foundation.org: drop bogus hunk from net/ipv6/raw.c] [akpm@linux-foundation.org: checkpatch fixes] [akpm@linux-foundation.org: fix warnings] [akpm@linux-foudnation.org: redo intrusive kvm changes] Tested-by: Peter Senna Tschudin <peter.senna@gmail.com> Acked-by: Paul E. Info about new measurements are cached in the iint for performance. When the inode is flushed from cache, the associated iint is flushed as well. 2010-03-30include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking ↵Tejun Heo1-0/+1
implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies. percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is used as the basis of conversion. http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py The script does the followings. * Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used, gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h. * When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered - alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there doesn't seem to be any matching order. * If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the file. The conversion was done in the following steps. 1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400 files. 2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion, some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added inclusions to around 150 files. 3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits from #2 to make sure no file was left behind. 4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed. e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually. 5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as necessary. 6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h. 7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq). * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config. * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig * ia64 SMP allmodconfig * s390 SMP allmodconfig * alpha SMP allmodconfig * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig 8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as a separate patch and serve as bisection point. Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step 6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch. If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of the specific arch. 2009-02-06integrity: IMA as an integrity service providerMimi Zohar1-0/+140
IMA provides hardware (TPM) based measurement and attestation for file measurements. As the Trusted Computing (TPM) model requires, IMA measures all files before they are accessed in any way (on the integrity_bprm_check, integrity_path_check and integrity_file_mmap hooks), and commits the measurements to the TPM. Once added to the TPM, measurements can not be removed. In addition, IMA maintains a list of these file measurements, which can be used to validate the aggregate value stored in the TPM. The TPM can sign these measurements, and thus the system can prove, to itself and to a third party, the system's integrity in a way that cannot be circumvented by malicious or compromised software. - alloc ima_template_entry before calling ima_store_template() - log ima_add_boot_aggregate() failure - removed unused IMA_TEMPLATE_NAME_LEN - replaced hard coded string length with #define name Signed-off-by: Mimi Zohar <zohar@us.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: James Morris <jmorris@namei.org>
