git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/pci/pci Pull PCI updates from Bjorn Helgaas: "Resource management: - Add hotplug reservation only once (not at each level of the hierarchy) so bridge windows don't grow more than necessary (Ilpo Järvinen) Driver binding: - Rework device matching so device ID lifetime only needs to cover the probe path since dynamic IDs can be removed at any time (Gary Guo) Error handling: - Update mappings of AER errors to agent & layer and log them for each individual error when multiple errors detected (Lukas Wunner) - Log Error Source only once, not twice in separate messages (Lukas Wunner) - Emit TLP Log only for unmasked errors (Lukas Wunner) - Support Advisory Non-Fatal Errors (Lukas Wunner) - Allow DPC on all Downstream Ports, not just Root Ports, when OS controls AER (Darshit Shah) ASPM: - Allow portdrv to claim Ports even if they don't support services (AER, PME, DPC, hotplug, etc) so it can do power management (Brian Norris) Power control: - Add support for PCIe WAKE# interrupt when described via DT (Krishna Chaitanya Chundru) - For the TC9563 PCIe switch: - Take a reference on the I2C adapter to avoid uninterruptible hang when unloading an I2C module while in-use (Johan Hovold) - Update DT binding and driver to restrict Tx Amplitude, DFE and N_FTS to USP, DSP1 and DSP2 (Manivannan Sadhasivam) - Power off only external-facing ports (DSP1, DSP2), leaving USP and DSP3 (aka VDSP) powered up (Manivannan Sadhasivam) - Move integrated MAC Endpoint out of the list of internal ports and configure it separately (Manivannan Sadhasivam) Virtualization: - Add ACS quirk for Pericom PI7C9X2G608 switches (Tim Harvey) - Fix a long-standing bug in the Intel PCH Root Port MPC ACS quirk that didn't update the intended INTEL_MPC_REG_IRBNCE bit because it used a 16-bit config write when a 32-bit write was intended (Mohamad Raizudeen) Procfs: - Avoid spurious runtime PM wakeup on config space accesses that are outside config space and fail before reaching PCI (Krzysztof Wilczyński) - Warn on user-space writes to kernel-exclusive config space regions, as we already do for sysfs (Krzysztof Wilczyński) - Check credentials of opener, not reader, for config space reads, as we already do for sysfs (Krzysztof Wilczyński) Sysfs: - In pci_write_legacy_io(), avoid out-of-bounds reads from the user buffer and fix incorrect ioport write data (1-byte writes on little-endian powerpc, 2- and 4-byte writes on big-endian powerpc) (Krzysztof Wilczyński) - In pci_read_legacy_io(), fix incorrect ioport read data for 2- and 4-byte reads on big-endian powerpc (Krzysztof Wilczyński) - Fix I/O port accessor argument order in Alpha pci_legacy_write() (Krzysztof Wilczyński) - Avoid spurious runtime PM wakeup on config space accesses that are outside config space and fail before reaching PCI (Krzysztof Wilczyński) - Return -EINVAL, not -ENODEV, for mmap of I/O BAR that fails because the arch doesn't support it, as we do for procfs (Krzysztof Wilczyński) - Check for LOCKDOWN_PCI_ACCESS for legacy_io and legacy_mem, as we do for other config space accessors (Krzysztof Wilczyński) Peer-to-peer DMA: - Add Nvidia Vera Rubin to list of platforms that support P2PDMA (Leon Romanovsky) Endpoint framework: - Switch to irq_domain_create_linear() so we can obsolete irq_domain_add_linear() (Jiri Slaby) Cadence PCIe controller driver: - Add MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE to generate module aliases for OF-based module autoloading (Pengpeng Hou) - Add debugfs 'ltssm_status' file for LGA- and HPA-based Cadence controllers (Hans Zhang) - Support up to x4 (not x2) lanes for J200 (Takuma Fujiwara) - Fix host/endpoint dependencies for cadence-plat driver to fix link error when cadence-plat is built-in but the host or endpoint driver is modular (Aksh Garg) Freescale i.MX6 PCIe controller driver: - Add imx6 intr/aer/pme interrupt lines for i.MX95 (Richard Zhu) - Remove PERST# checking from pci_host_common_parse_port() so callers can decide whether to fall back to legacy DT binding with PERST# in the host bridge (Sherry Sun) - Fix build issues when PCI_PWRCTRL_GENERIC or PCI_HOST_COMMON is a module (Arnd Bergmann) - Create pwrctrl devices only once by doing it from imx_pcie_probe() instead of imx_pcie_host_init(), which is used during both probe and resume (Sherry Sun) - Use 'dw_pcie_rp->skip_pwrctrl_off' to avoid powering off devices during suspend to preserve wakeup capability (Sherry Sun) - Add runtime PM support for i.MX95 to allow dynamic power management when the link is idle (Richard Zhu) Intel VMD host bridge driver: - git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-next Pull networking updates from Jakub Kicinski: "One of the 'small improvements all over the place' releases for us. It's hard to draw any direct comparisons because summer vacations disrupted our patch processing (and presumably - generation) quite a bit. Quick and dirty count suggests we (Paolo and I) merged a very similar number of net (632) and net-next (648) patches. This is not telling the full story either because 1/3 to 1/2 of the net-next patches also *seem* like AI-driven low priority fixes, cleanups and clarifications. We are completely overwhelmed, of course. The glimmer of hope is that we secured sufficient LLM budget and access (thank you Meta!) to run reviews with multiple frontier models on each patch. This eliminates some hallucinations. That said, in terms of review, the LLMs can only do so much. The sad truth is that our APIs (especially for rare events like PCIe errors, timeouts etc) have always been racy, and now LLMs don't let us ignore that. I expect our direction for the next release will be to tweak the reviews a little bit more, but start shifting focus to letting the LLMs take care of the busy work - managing patchwork, automating common process complaints, editing commit messages, and maybe applying patches which already got "reviewed-by" tags from people we trust... 2026-07-15PCI: vmd: Add feature to scan BIOS-enumerated devicesNirmal Patel1-0/+1
Newer VMD with device ID 0x28C1 has unique settings compared to its predecessor where BIOS enumerates the entire VMD device tree and assigns respective configurations. VMD configuration BAR0 carries over from GNR legacy VMD as the mechanism to access the configuration space of the devices owned by VMD. The size of this window is fixed at 256 MB, where each function consumes 4 KB and every bus consumes 1 MB. The shadow and scratchpad registers have been relocated from the VMD configuration space to the VMD MMIO space in VMD BAR4/BAR5, otherwise refers to as MEMBAR2 or MSI-X bar. VMD MSI-X remapping enable/disable is no longer supported. On this new device, simply obtain the bus hide range and shadow register values set by BIOS and perform a bus scan. Also refactor vmd_enable_domain(). 2026-06-09PCI/P2PDMA: Add Intel QAT, DSA, IAA devices to whitelistLukas Wunner1-0/+8
The first device on a PCI root bus determines whether the host bridge is whitelisted for P2PDMA. All Intel Xeon chips since Ice Lake (ICX, 2021) expose a device with ID 0x09a2 as first device. It is loosely associated with the IOMMU. All these Xeon chips support P2PDMA, so since the addition of the device with commit feaea1fe8b36 ("PCI/P2PDMA: Add Intel 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors to whitelist"), P2PDMA has been allowed on all new Xeons without the need to amend the whitelist: Xeons with Performance Cores: Sapphire Rapids (SPR, 2023) Emerald Rapids (EMR, 2023) Granite Rapids (GNR, 2024) Diamond Rapids (DMR, 2026) Xeons with Efficiency Cores: Sierra Forest (SRF, 2024) Clearwater Forest (CWF, 2026) However these Xeons also expose accelerators as first device on a root bus of its own: QuickAssist Technology (QAT, crypto & compression accelerator) Data Streaming Accelerator (DSA, dma engine) In-Memory Analytics Accelerator (IAA, compression accelerator) Whitelist them for P2PDMA as well. Move their Device ID macros from the accelerator drivers to <linux/pci_ids.h> for reuse by P2PDMA code. Unfortunately the Device IDs vary across Xeon generations as additional features were added to the accelerators. This currently necessitates an amendment for each new Xeon chip. For future chips, this need shall be avoided by an ongoing effort to extend ACPI HMAT with PCIe P2PDMA characteristics (latency, bandwidth, ordering constraints). The PCI core will be able look up in this BIOS-provided ACPI table whether P2PDMA is supported, instead of relying on a whitelist that needs to be amended continuously. 2026-02-11Merge tag 'net-next-7.0' of ↵Linus Torvalds1-3/+0
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-next Pull networking updates from Paolo Abeni: "Core & protocols: - A significant effort all around the stack to guide the compiler to make the right choice when inlining code, to avoid unneeded calls for small helper and stack canary overhead in the fast-path. This generates better and faster code with very small or no text size increases, as in many cases the call generated more code than the actual inlined helper. - Extend AccECN implementation so that is now functionally complete, also allow the user-space enabling it on a per network namespace basis. - Add support for memory providers with large (above 4K) rx buffer. Paired with hw-gro, larger rx buffer sizes reduce the number of buffers traversing the stack, dincreasing single stream CPU usage by up to ~30%. - Do not add HBH header to Big TCP GSO packets. This simplifies the RX path, the TX path and the NIC drivers, and is possible because user-space taps can now interpret correctly such packets without the HBH hint. - Allow IPv6 routes to be configured with a gateway address that is resolved out of a different interface than the one specified, aligning IPv6 to IPv4 behavior. - Multi-queue aware sch_cake. This makes it possible to scale the rate shaper of sch_cake across multiple CPUs, while still enforcing a single global rate on the interface. - Add support for the nbcon (new buffer console) infrastructure to netconsole, enabling lock-free, priority-based console operations that are safer in crash scenarios. - Improve the TCP ipv6 output path to cache the flow information, saving cpu cycles, reducing cache line misses and stack use. - Improve netfilter packet tracker to resolve clashes for most protocols, avoiding unneeded drops on rare occasions. - Add IP6IP6 tunneling acceleration to the flowtable infrastructure. - Reduce tcp socket size by one cache line. - Notify neighbour changes atomically, avoiding inconsistencies between the notification sequence and the actual states sequence. - Add vsock namespace support, allowing complete isolation of vsocks across different network namespaces. - Improve xsk generic performances with cache-alignment-oriented optimizations. - Support netconsole automatic target recovery, allowing netconsole to reestablish targets when underlying low-level interface comes back online. 2026-01-20net: remove HIPPI support and RoadRunner HIPPI driverEthan Nelson-Moore1-3/+0
HIPPI has not been relevant for over two decades. It was rapidly eclipsed by Fibre Channel, and even when it was new, it was confined to very high-end hardware. The HIPPI code has only received tree-wide changes and fixes by inspection in the entire Git history. Remove HIPPI support and the rrunner HIPPI driver, and move the former maintainer to the CREDITS file. Keep the include/uapi/linux/if_hippi.h header because it is used by the TUN code, and to avoid breaking userspace, however unlikely that may be. 2025-06-16misc: rp1: RaspberryPi RP1 misc driverAndrea della Porta1-0/+3
The RaspberryPi RP1 is a PCI multi function device containing peripherals ranging from Ethernet to USB controller, I2C, SPI and others. Implement a bare minimum driver to operate the RP1, leveraging actual OF based driver implementations for the on-board peripherals by loading a devicetree overlay during driver probe if the RP1 node is not already present in the DT. The peripherals are accessed by mapping MMIO registers starting from PCI BAR1 region. With the overlay approach we can achieve more generic and agnostic approach to managing this chipset, being that it is a PCI endpoint and could possibly be reused in other hw implementations. The presented approach is also used by Bootlin's Microchip LAN966x patchset (see link) as well, for a similar chipset. In this case, the inclusion tree for the DT overlay is as follow (the arrow points to the includer): rp1-pci.dtso <---- rp1-common.dtsi On the other hand, to ensure compatibility with downstream, this driver can also work with a DT already comprising the RP1 node, so the dynamically loaded overlay will not be used if the DT is already fully defined. The reason why this driver is contained in drivers/misc has been paved by Bootlin's LAN966X driver, which first used the overlay approach to implement non discoverable peripherals behind a PCI bus. For RP1, the same arguments apply: it's not used as an SoC since the driver code is not running on-chip and is not like an MFD since it does not really need all the MFD infrastructure (shared regs, etc.). So, for this particular use, misc has been proposed and deemed as a good choice. For further details about that please check the links. This driver is heavily based on downstream code from RaspberryPi Foundation, and the original author is Phil Elwell. 2025-03-21s390/pci: Support mmap() of PCI resources except for ISM devicesNiklas Schnelle1-0/+1
So far s390 does not allow mmap() of PCI resources to user-space via the usual mechanisms, though it does use it for RDMA. For the PCI sysfs resource files and /proc/bus/pci it defines neither HAVE_PCI_MMAP nor ARCH_GENERIC_PCI_MMAP_RESOURCE. For vfio-pci s390 previously relied on disabled VFIO_PCI_MMAP and now relies on setting pdev->non_mappable_bars for all devices. This is partly because access to mapped PCI resources from user-space requires special PCI load/store memory-I/O (MIO) instructions, or the special MMIO syscalls when these are not available. Still, such access is possible and useful not just for RDMA, in fact not being able to mmap() PCI resources has previously caused extra work when testing devices. One thing that doesn't work with PCI resources mapped to user-space though is the s390 specific virtual ISM device. Not only because the BAR size of 256 TiB prevents mapping the whole BAR but also because access requires use of the legacy PCI instructions which are not accessible to user-space on systems with the newer MIO PCI instructions. Now with the pdev->non_mappable_bars flag ISM can be excluded from mapping its resources while making this functionality available for all other PCI devices. To this end introduce a minimal implementation of PCI_QUIRKS and use that to set pdev->non_mappable_bars for ISM devices only. Then also set ARCH_GENERIC_PCI_MMAP_RESOURCE to take advantage of the generic implementation of pci_mmap_resource_range() enabling only the newer sysfs mmap() interface. This follows the recommendation in Documentation/PCI/sysfs-pci.rst. 2024-11-13usb: cdns3: Synchronise PCI IDs via common data baseAndy Shevchenko1-0/+4
There are a few places in the kernel where PCI IDs for different Cadence USB controllers are being used. Besides different naming, they duplicate each other. Make this all in order by providing common definitions via PCI IDs database and use in all users. While doing that, rename definitions as Roger suggested. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-next Pull networking updates from Jakub Kicinski: "Core & protocols: - Support usec resolution of TCP timestamps, enabled selectively by a route attribute. - Defer regular TCP ACK while processing socket backlog, try to send a cumulative ACK at the end. Increase single TCP flow performance on a 200Gbit NIC by 20% (100Gbit -> 120Gbit). - The Fair Queuing (FQ) packet scheduler: - add built-in 3 band prio / WRR scheduling - support bypass if the qdisc is mostly idle (5% speed up for TCP RR) - improve inactive flow reporting - optimize the layout of structures for better cache locality - Support TCP Authentication Option (RFC 5925, TCP-AO), a more modern replacement for the old MD5 option. - Add more retransmission timeout (RTO) related statistics to TCP_INFO. - Support sending fragmented skbs over vsock sockets. - Make sure we send SIGPIPE for vsock sockets if socket was shutdown(). - Add sysctl for ignoring lower limit on lifetime in Router Advertisement PIO, based on an in-progress IETF draft. - Add sysctl to control activation of TCP ping-pong mode. - Add sysctl to make connection timeout in MPTCP configurable. - Support rcvlowat and notsent_lowat on MPTCP sockets, to help apps limit the number of wakeups. - Support netlink GET for MDB (multicast forwarding), allowing user space to request a single MDB entry instead of dumping the entire table. - Support selective FDB flushing in the VXLAN tunnel driver. - Allow limiting learned FDB entries in bridges, prevent OOM attacks. - Allow controlling via configfs netconsole targets which were created via the kernel cmdline at boot, rather than via configfs at runtime. - Support multiple PTP timestamp event queue readers with different filters. - MCTP over I3C. BPF: - Add new veth-like netdevice where BPF program defines the logic of the xmit routine. It can operate in L3 and L2 mode. - Support exceptions - allow asserting conditions which should never be true but are hard for the verifier to infer. With some extra flexibility around handling of the exit / failure: https://lwn.net/Articles/938435/ - Add support for local per-cpu kptr, allow allocating and storing per-cpu objects in maps. Access to those objects operates on the value for the current CPU. This allows to deprecate local one-off implementations of per-CPU storage like BPF_MAP_TYPE_PERCPU_CGROUP_STORAGE maps. - Extend cgroup BPF sockaddr hooks for UNIX sockets. The use case is for systemd to re-implement the LogNamespace feature which allows running multiple instances of systemd-journald to process the logs of different services. - Enable open-coded task_vma iteration, after maple tree conversion made it hard to directly walk VMAs in tracing programs. - Add open-coded task, css_task and css iterator support. One of the use cases is customizable OOM victim selection via BPF. - Allow source address selection with bpf_*_fib_lookup(). - Add ability to pin BPF timer to the current CPU. - Prevent creation of infinite loops by combining tail calls and fentry/fexit programs. - Add missed stats for kprobes to retrieve the number of missed kprobe executions and subsequent executions of BPF programs. - Inherit system settings for CPU security mitigations. - Add BPF v4 CPU instruction support for arm32 and s390x. Changes to common code: - overflow: add DEFINE_FLEX() for on-stack definition of structs with flexible array members. - Process doc update with more guidance for reviewers. Driver API: - Simplify locking in WiFi (cfg80211 and mac80211 layers), use wiphy mutex in most places and remove a lot of smaller locks. - Create a common DPLL configuration API. Allow configuring and querying state of PLL circuits used for clock syntonization, in network time distribution. - Unify fragmented and full page allocation APIs in page pool code. Let drivers be ignorant of PAGE_SIZE. - Rework PHY state machine to avoid races with calls to phy_stop(). - Notify DSA drivers of MAC address changes on user ports, improve correctness of offloads which depend on matching port MAC addresses. - Allow antenna control on injected WiFi frames. - Reduce the number of variants of napi_schedule(). - Simplify error handling when composing devlink health messages. Misc: - A lot of KCSAN data race "fixes", from Eric. - A lot of __counted_by() annotations, from Kees. - A lot of strncpy -> strscpy and printf format fixes. - Replace master/slave terminology with conduit/user in DSA drivers. - Handful of KUnit tests for netdev and WiFi core. Removed: - AppleTalk COPS. - AppleTalk ipddp. - TI AR7 CPMAC Ethernet driver. Drivers: - Ethernet high-speed NICs: - Intel (100G, ice, idpf): - add a driver for the Intel E2000 IPUs - make CRC/FCS stripping configurable - cross-timestamping for E823 devices - basic support for E830 devices - use aux-bus for managing client drivers - i40e: report firmware versions via devlink - nVidia/Mellanox: - support 4-port NICs - increase max number of channels to 256 - optimize / parallelize SF creation flow - Broadcom (bnxt): - enhance NIC temperature reporting - support PAM4 speeds and lane configuration - Marvell OcteonTX2: - PTP pulse-per-second output support - enable hardware timestamping for VFs - Solarflare/AMD: - conntrack NAT offload and offload for tunnels - Wangxun (ngbe/txgbe): - expose HW statistics - Pensando/AMD: - support PCI level reset - narrow down the condition under which skbs are linearized - Netronome/Corigine (nfp): - support CHACHA20-POLY1305 crypto in IPsec offload - Ethernet NICs embedded, slower, virtual: - Synopsys (stmmac): - add Loongson-1 SoC support - enable use of HW queues with no offload capabilities - enable PPS input support on all 5 channels - increase TX coalesce timer to 5ms - RealTek USB (r8152): improve efficiency of Rx by using GRO frags - xen: support SW packet timestamping - add drivers for implementations based on TI's PRUSS (AM64x EVM) - nVidia/Mellanox Ethernet datacenter switches: - avoid poor HW resource use on Spectrum-4 by better block selection for IPv6 multicast forwarding and ordering of blocks in ACL region - Ethernet embedded switches: - Microchip: - support configuring the drive strength for EMI compliance - ksz9477: partial ACL support - ksz9477: HSR offload - ksz9477: Wake on LAN - Realtek: - rtl8366rb: respect device tree config of the CPU port - Ethernet PHYs: - support Broadcom BCM5221 PHYs - TI dp83867: support hardware LED blinking - CAN: - add support for Linux-PHY based CAN transceivers - at91_can: clean up and use rx-offload helpers - WiFi: - MediaTek (mt76): - new sub-driver for mt7925 USB/PCIe devices - HW wireless <> Ethernet bridging in MT7988 chips - mt7603/mt7628 stability improvements - Qualcomm (ath12k): - WCN7850: - enable 320 MHz channels in 6 GHz band - hardware rfkill support - enable IEEE80211_HW_SINGLE_SCAN_ON_ALL_BANDS to make scan faster - read board data variant name from SMBIOS - QCN9274: mesh support - RealTek (rtw89): - TDMA-based multi-channel concurrency (MCC) - Silicon Labs (wfx): - Remain-On-Channel (ROC) support - Bluetooth: - ISO: many improvements for broadcast support - mark BCM4378/BCM4387 as BROKEN_LE_CODED - add support for QCA2066 - btmtksdio: enable Bluetooth wakeup from suspend" * tag 'net-next-6.7' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-next: (1816 commits) net: pcs: xpcs: Add 2500BASE-X case in get state for XPCS drivers net: bpf: Use sockopt_lock_sock() in ip_sock_set_tos() net: mana: Use xdp_set_features_flag instead of direct assignment vxlan: Cleanup IFLA_VXLAN_PORT_RANGE entry in vxlan_get_size() iavf: delete the iavf client interface iavf: add a common function for undoing the interrupt scheme iavf: use unregister_netdev iavf: rely on netdev's own registered state iavf: fix the waiting time for initial reset iavf: in iavf_down, don't queue watchdog_task if comms failed iavf: simplify mutex_trylock+sleep loops iavf: fix comments about old bit locks doc/netlink: Update schema to support cmd-cnt-name and cmd-max-name tools: ynl: introduce option to process unknown attributes or types ipvlan: properly track tx_errors netdevsim: Block until all devices are released nfp: using napi_build_skb() to replace build_skb() net: dsa: microchip: ksz9477: Fix spelling mistake "Enery" -> "Energy" net: dsa: microchip: Ensure Stable PME Pin State for Wake-on-LAN net: dsa: microchip: Refactor switch shutdown routine for WoL preparation ...
