2026-06-29USB: serial: digi_acceleport: fix hard lockup on disconnectJohan Hovold1-5/+7
If submitting the OOB write urb fails persistently (e.g if the device is being disconnected) the driver would loop indefinitely with interrupts disabled. Check for urb submission errors when sending OOB commands to avoid hanging if, for example, open(), set_termios() or close() races with a physical disconnect. This is issue was flagged by Sashiko when reviewing an unrelated change to the driver. Link: https://sashiko.dev/#/patchset/20260610132232.356139-1-johan%40kernel.org?part=1 Fixes: 1da177e4c3f4 ("Linux-2.6.12-rc2") Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Reviewed-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: Johan Hovold <johan@kernel.org>
2026-06-29USB: serial: digi_acceleport: fix write buffer corruptionJohan Hovold1-5/+10
The digi_write_inb_command() is supposed to wait for the write urb to become available or return an error, but instead it updates the transfer buffer and tries to resubmit the urb on timeout. To make things worse, for commands like break control where no timeout is used, the driver would corrupt the urb immediately due to a broken jiffies comparison (on 32-bit machines this takes five minutes of uptime to trigger due to INITIAL_JIFFIES). Fix this by adding the missing return on timeout and waiting indefinitely when no timeout has been specified as intended. This issue was (sort of) flagged by Sashiko when reviewing an unrelated change to the driver. 2026-06-29media: ite-cir: Use an enum for the different supported device typesUwe Kleine-König (The Capable Hub)1-11/+18
Instead of using magic constants define an enum that that makes it easier to keep .driver_data and the array of different types in sync. While touching the pnp_device_id array simplify the list terminator and use named initializers which better show which struct members are actually assigned to. 2026-06-29media: Drop unused assignments from pnp_device_id arrayUwe Kleine-König (The Capable Hub)5-11/+11
Explicitly assigning .driver_data in drivers that don't use this member is silly and a bit irritating. Drop it. Also simplify the list terminator entry to be just empty to match what most other device_id tables do. While touching these arrays convert them to use named initializers, empty list terminators and no comma after the terminator. There is no changed semantic, not even a change in the compiled result. 2026-06-29media: rc: sunxi-cir: Unregister rc device on probe failureMyeonghun Pak1-3/+6
After rc_register_device() succeeds, later probe failures must undo the registration with rc_unregister_device(). The current error path jumps to the allocation cleanup label and only calls rc_free_device(), leaving the rc device registration and resources created by rc_register_device() behind. Add a registered-device unwind label for the IRQ lookup, IRQ request, and hardware initialization failure paths. Keep rc_free_device() for failures before rc_register_device() succeeds. 2026-06-29platform/chrome: cros_ec_typec: Reject out-of-bounds PD cap countMaoyi Xie1-0/+6
cros_typec_register_partner_pdos() copies the partner PDOs from the EC TYPEC_STATUS response into the fixed caps_desc.pdo[PDO_MAX_OBJECTS] array. memcpy(caps_desc.pdo, resp->source_cap_pdos, sizeof(u32) * resp->source_cap_count); ... memcpy(caps_desc.pdo, resp->sink_cap_pdos, sizeof(u32) * resp->sink_cap_count); PDO_MAX_OBJECTS is 7. source_cap_count and sink_cap_count are u8 fields from the EC. The only check is that they are not both zero. If either is larger than 7, the memcpy writes past the end of the array on the stack. A count of 255 overflows it by about 1 KB. The EC source arrays are only seven entries wide. A larger count reads past them too. The ChromeOS EC firmware caps these counts today, so a compliant setup does not hit this. The kernel should still validate these values rather than trust them. Validate the counts in cros_typec_register_partner_pdos() next to the memcpy. Skip the PDO registration if either count is above PDO_MAX_OBJECTS. The rest of cros_typec_handle_status() still runs so events are handled and cleared. 2026-06-29platform/chrome: sensorhub: Bound the EC-reported sensor numberBryam Vargas1-0/+8
Each EC FIFO event carries an 8-bit sensor number (in->sensor_num). cros_ec_sensorhub_ring_handler() validates the FIFO event count, the per-read count and the ring bound, but not the sensor number, which cros_ec_sensor_ring_process_event() then uses unchecked to index sensorhub->batch_state[] - allocated with only sensorhub->sensor_num entries. A sensor number of sensor_num or larger is an out-of-bounds read and write of batch_state[]. 2026-06-28Merge tag 'v7.2-rc1' into drm-rust-nextDanilo Krummrich5743-102457/+331546
Merge v7.2-rc1 into drm-rust-next to start the next cycle. Devres now requires T: 'static, which conflicts with shmem::Object using Devres<SGTableMap<T, C>> without that bound. Resolve by adding 'static as a supertrait to DriverObject and DeviceContext, which does not restrict any current use cases since DriverObject is always implemented on owned, refcounted types and DeviceContext is a sealed marker trait with only unit-type implementors. If DriverObject (or DeviceContext) ever becomes lifetime-parameterized (e.g. via a GAT for TTM backed objects), the 'static supertrait can be relaxed at that point. 2026-06-28clk: rockchip: rk3588: don't disable unused I2S MCLK output gatesDaniele Briguglio1-4/+4
No in-tree board references these gates yet. Boards drive the codec MCLK through the parent I2S*_8CH_MCLKOUT, and now that the gates are managed clocks, clk_disable_unused() turns them off at boot. On a board that relied on firmware leaving the output enabled, that cuts the MCLK and analog audio stops working. Mark the four gates CLK_IGNORE_UNUSED so an unreferenced gate keeps the state firmware left. A board that wants the kernel to own the gate can reference I2S*_8CH_MCLKOUT_TO_IO from DT instead. Map xmit skb fragments using skb_frag_dma_map() instead of dma_map_single(skb_frag_address()). skb_frag_address() relies on page_address() to obtain a kernel virtual address, which is not guaranteed to work for all page types (e.g. highmem pages or user-pinned pages from MSG_ZEROCOPY). skb_frag_dma_map() maps the fragment directly via its struct page and offset through dma_map_page(), avoiding the need for a kernel virtual address entirely. 2026-06-26Input: gscps2 - advance receive buffer write indexXu Rao1-0/+1
Commit 44f920069911 ("Input: gscps2 - use guard notation when acquiring spinlock") moved the receive loop into gscps2_read_data() and gscps2_report_data(). While moving the code, it preserved the writes to buffer[ps2port->append], but omitted the following producer index update from the original loop: ps2port->append = (ps2port->append + 1) & BUFFER_SIZE; As a result, append never advances. Since gscps2_report_data() only reports bytes while act != append, the receive buffer always appears empty and no keyboard or mouse data reaches the serio core. Restore the omitted index update. 2026-06-26Input: rmi4 - tolerate short register descriptor structureDmitry Torokhov1-12/+25
Some touchpads (e.g. ThinkPad T14 Gen 1) have buggy firmware that reports a register descriptor structure size that is too small for the number of registers it claims to have in the presence map. The remaining bytes in the structure are 0, which with the new strict bounds checking causes the parser to fail with -EIO, aborting the device probe. Tolerate such short reads by dropping the remaining (unparseable or 0-size) registers from the list instead of failing the probe, preventing the driver from trying to use them. 2026-06-26Revert "Input: rmi4 - fix register descriptor address calculation"Dmitry Torokhov1-1/+1
The register descriptor presence register is a packet register, which means its bytes share a single RMI address. It does not occupy consecutive addresses, and the register structure that follows it is located at the next RMI address (presence_address + 1), not (presence_address + presence_size). Revert the incorrect address calculation introduced in commit a98518e72439. Reported-by: "Barry K. Nathan" <barryn@pobox.com> Tested-by: "Barry K. 2026-06-26net: pse-pd: scope pse_control regulator handle to kref lifetimeCorey Leavitt1-3/+3
__pse_control_release() drops psec->ps via devm_regulator_put(), which only succeeds if the devres entry added by the matching devm_regulator_get_exclusive() is still present on pcdev->dev at the time the pse_control's kref hits zero. That assumption does not hold when the controller is unbound while a pse_control still has consumers: pcdev->dev's devres list is released LIFO, so every per-attach regulator-GET devres runs (and regulator_put()s the underlying regulator) before pse_controller_unregister() itself is invoked. Any later pse_control_put() from that unbind path then reads psec->ps as a dangling pointer inside devm_regulator_put() and WARNs at drivers/regulator/devres.c:232 (devres_release() fails to find the already-released match). The pse_control's consumer handle is logically scoped to the pse_control's refcount, not to pcdev->dev's devres lifetime. Switch to the plain regulator_get_exclusive() / regulator_put() pair so the regulator put in __pse_control_release() no longer depends on the controller's devres still being present. No change to the regulator-framework-visible refcount or lifetime of the underlying regulator: a single get paired with a single put. The existing devm_regulator_register() for the per-PI rails is unchanged (those ARE correctly scoped to the controller's lifetime). This addresses only the regulator handle. The same unbind-while-held scenario also leaves __pse_control_release() reading psec->pcdev->pi[] and psec->pcdev->owner after pse_controller_unregister() has freed pcdev->pi, because the controller does not drain its outstanding pse_control references on unregister. That wider pse_control vs pcdev lifetime problem pre-dates this change and is addressed by the PSE controller notifier series, which drains phydev->psec on PSE_UNREGISTERED before pcdev->pi is freed.
