2026-07-31perf: marvell: Cancel CN10K DDR PMU hrtimer on device removeGeetha sowjanya1-0/+6
cn10k_ddr_perf_remove() did not cancel the poll hrtimer before returning. If the device was unbound while perf events were still active the timer callback could run post-free. 2026-07-31perf: marvell: Add CN20K DDR PMU supportGeetha sowjanya1-15/+213
The CN20K DRAM Subsystem exposes eight programmable performance counters and two fixed counters for DDR read and write traffic. Software selects events for the programmable counters from traffic at the DDR PHY interface, the CHI interconnect, or inside the DDR controller. Add CN20K register offsets, event maps, and sysfs attributes; match the device via OF (marvell,cn20k-ddr-pmu) and ACPI (MRVL000B). Represent the SoC variant in platform data with bit flags so CN20K can reuse the CN10K PMU code path where appropriate. Marvell CN20K SoCs integrate a DDR Performance Monitoring Unit (PMU) associated with the DDR controller. The block provides hardware counters to monitor DDR traffic and performance events and is accessed via a dedicated MMIO region. The CN20K DDR PMU is functionally equivalent to the CN10K DDR PMU, with minor register offset differences. 2026-07-31ASoC: SOF: ipc4-pcm: Continue the pipeline trigger in case of IPC timeoutPeter Ujfalusi1-6/+19
Ignore IPC errors for pipeline state change if the firmware state is crashed or the IPC has timed out. If the firmware has crashed the kernel still needs to go through the state changes to reset its internal to be able to correctly work the next time the DSP is booted up. The case with IPC timeout is a bit more problematic, but it has been rootcaused to be the result of system scheduling blockage and the firmware did actually received and handled the message, but the reply handling got blocked by issues outside of the SOF stack. So far the best way to handle this is to continue with setting the state. 2026-07-31block: enable RWF_DONTCACHE for block devicesTal Zussman1-1/+1
Block device buffered reads and writes already pass through filemap_read() and iomap_file_buffered_write() respectively, both of which handle IOCB_DONTCACHE. Enable RWF_DONTCACHE for block device files by setting FOP_DONTCACHE in def_blk_fops. For CONFIG_BUFFER_HEAD=y, writeback goes through buffer_head's __bh_submit() which sets BIO_COMPLETE_IN_TASK on dropbehind folios. For CONFIG_BUFFER_HEAD=n, writeback goes through iomap which handles it via BIO_COMPLETE_IN_TASK on the ioend bio. This support is useful for databases that operate on raw block devices, among other userspace applications. 2026-07-31buffer: set BIO_COMPLETE_IN_TASK for dropbehind writebackTal Zussman1-0/+3
Set BIO_COMPLETE_IN_TASK in __bh_submit() for write bios when the folio has dropbehind set, so that buffer_head writeback completions get deferred to task context where folio_end_dropbehind() can safely invalidate folios. Read completions are not deferred since dropbehind invalidation for reads is handled synchronously by the reader. 2026-07-31iomap: use BIO_COMPLETE_IN_TASK for dropbehind writebackTal Zussman3-10/+4
Set BIO_COMPLETE_IN_TASK on iomap writeback bios when a dropbehind folio is added. This ensures that bi_end_io runs in task context, where folio_end_dropbehind() can safely invalidate folios. With the bio layer now handling task-context deferral generically, IOMAP_IOEND_DONTCACHE is no longer needed, as XFS no longer needs to route DONTCACHE ioends through its completion workqueue. Remove the flag and its NOMERGE entry. Without the NOMERGE, regular I/Os that get merged with a dropbehind folio will also have their completion deferred to task context. 2026-07-31block: add task-context bio completion infrastructureTal Zussman3-1/+156
Some bio completion handlers need to run from preemptible task context, but bio_endio() may be called from IRQ context (e.g., buffer_head writeback). Callers need a way to ensure their callback eventually runs from a sleepable context. Add infrastructure for that, in two forms: 1. BIO_COMPLETE_IN_TASK, a bio flag the submitter sets when it knows in advance that its callback needs task context (e.g., dropbehind writeback). bio_endio() sees the flag and offloads completion to a worker automatically. 2. bio_complete_in_task(), a helper that completion callbacks can invoke from within bi_end_io() when the deferral decision is dynamic (e.g., fserror reporting). Both share a per-CPU list drained by a work item on a WQ_PERCPU workqueue. Producers push the bio onto the local CPU's list and schedule the work item, which then dispatches each bio's bi_end_io() from task context. Both methods are gated on bio_in_atomic(), which returns true in any context where a sleeping bi_end_io() is unsafe, including non-preemptible task context. Two CPU hotplug callbacks are used to drain remaining bios from the departing CPU's batch, while maintaining the per-CPU behavior. The CPUHP_AP_ONLINE_DYN callback disables the per-CPU work item while the CPU is still online, preventing it from running on an unbound worker later. CPUHP_BP_PREPARE_DYN then drains any bios added between disabling the work item and CPU offline. 2026-07-31block: introduce bio_in_atomic()Tal Zussman2-10/+16
Move the atomic context detection logic from erofs's z_erofs_in_atomic() into the block layer as bio_in_atomic(). This helper returns true when the current context is unsafe for sleeping bio completion handlers (e.g., hard/soft IRQ, preempt-disabled). The logic was originally added to erofs in commit c99fab6e80b7 ("erofs: fix atomic context detection when !CONFIG_DEBUG_LOCK_ALLOC"). A subsequent patch will use it in the block layer's bio completion infrastructure, so move it to include/linux/bio.h where both subsystems can share it. Convert erofs to call the new bio_in_atomic() directly. The crash is triggered with that new debug patch, and without this fix. [CAUSE] In the above case, the start 16826368 is properly 8K aligned, but the end (16830463 + 1) is not 8K aligned. Furthermore the mapping's minimal folio order is 0, not the expected 1 for 8K block size with 4K page size. So this means some inodes do not have btrfs_set_inode_mapping_order() called on it. The missing btrfs_set_inode_mapping_order() call happens for cached inodes, through the following events: - btrfs_create_new_inode() called for inode X Which properly sets minimal folio order for the VFS inode. - btrfs_update_inode() called for inode X Which calls btrfs_delayed_update_inode() to create a delayed_node into root->delayed_nodes xarray. - Drop cache/memory pressure, evicting in-memory inode X Which evicted the inode X, but delayed_node is still in root->delayed_nodes for future reuse. - btrfs_iget() for inode X called again btrfs_iget() |- btrfs_iget_locked() | |- iget5_locked_rcu() | Which creates a new vfs_inode for btrfs, whose mapping still | has the minimal order as 0. | |- btrfs_read_locked_inode() |- btrfs_fill_inode() | |- btrfs_get_delayed_node() | Which found out the previous node, and use that delayed | node to initialize the new inode. | |- filled = true; |- if (filled) goto cache_index; Which skips the btrfs_update_inode_mapping_flags() and btrfs_set_inode_mapping_order() calls. So the inode still has minimal folio order set as 0, not the required 1. Thus later page cache read will get a folio whose size is smaller than block size, as the mapping has its minimal folio order set as 0 not 1, then trigger the ASSERT(). [FIX] Move the btrfs_update_inode_mapping_flags() and btrfs_set_inode_mapping_order() calls under cache_index label, so that the mapping flags and minimal folio order is always set no matter if we have a cached inode. 2026-07-31ASoC: tas2783-sdw: drop stale regcache on uninitialized re-attachAndrey Golovko1-8/+16
When the peripheral re-attaches after the SoundWire controller was power-gated during system suspend (s2idle reaching S0i3 on AMD ACP), the amplifier has lost all of its register and DSP state. tas_update_status() handles that by re-running tas_io_init(), which writes the device's TAS2783_SW_RESET register - a vendor register write that clears the device's register file and DSP state, not a SoundWire reset, so no re-enumeration is involved - and re-downloads the firmware. Before doing any of that, it syncs back a register cache that still holds the pre-suspend values. That sync is useless, since the reset immediately wipes whatever it wrote, and it leaves the cache claiming that the amplifier is already powered up and unmuted. Subsequent read-modify-write updates - DAPM amplifier power-up, SDCA PDE transitions at stream start - then see "no change" and skip the hardware write. Playback runs without a single error while the speakers stay silent. Unbinding and rebinding the driver restores audio, since probe starts from a fresh cache. Drop the cache instead of syncing it when an uninitialized device attaches, so that later accesses see the real hardware state. Reordering the sync after tas_io_init() and marking the cache dirty is not a workable alternative here: tas_regmap has no .writeable_reg, so the cache accepts every register up to .max_register, including ones for which tas2783_sdca_mbq_size() returns 0. regmap_sdw_mbq_size() rejects those with -EINVAL, so the replay fails on the first such register and takes initialization down with it. Cached user settings fall back to hardware defaults across such a power loss, which seems clearly preferable to a silent amplifier - the device is being reset and its firmware reloaded at this point anyway. Tested on an ASUS ProArt PX13 HN7306EAC (AMD Strix Halo, ACP7.0, two TAS2783 amplifiers plus RT721 on SoundWire link 1): the speakers work after an s2idle resume with ~51 s of S0i3 residency, where previously they stayed silent despite a complete firmware re-download. 2026-07-31ASoC: SOF: ipc4-topology: Add payload to pipeline create messagesJyri Sarha1-9/+103
Start adding payloads to pipeline create messages. The payload contains information for payload specific memory configuration. All non DP module instances within the same pipeline share the same memory attributes and access the same resources. The new logic sums interim, lifetime, and shared heap memory requirements together and picks the highest stack requirement of all module instances belonging to a pipeline. These pipeline specific attributes are sent as struct sof_ipc4_glb_pipe_payload payload in pipeline's create message. The idea is to pass common memory configuration for all the Low Latency modules in the pipeline in pipeline create message payload. The Data Processing module instances will still have an individual memory configuration in struct sof_ipc4_mod_init_ext_dp_memory_data payloads as before. ath6kl_cfg80211_connect_event() subtracts fixed IE offsets from assoc_req_len (-= 4) and assoc_resp_len (-= 6), both u8, with no lower bound. The aggregate check recently added to ath6kl_wmi_connect_event_rx() bounds the declared lengths from above (their sum must fit the received event), but an assoc request/response shorter than its fixed offset still underflows here: the u8 wraps to ~250, and cfg80211_connect_result() / cfg80211_roamed() then treat that wrapped value as the IE length and copy that many bytes out of the small assoc_info buffer to user space via nl80211, disclosing adjacent slab memory. 2026-07-31wifi: ath11k: fix resource leak on error in ext IRQ setupZhaoJinming1-24/+55
In ath11k_ahb_config_irq(), when a CE request_irq() fails, the function returns the error immediately without freeing the CE IRQs that were successfully registered in previous loop iterations. The probe error path does not call ath11k_ahb_free_irq() either, so the previously registered CE IRQ handlers remain attached to the interrupt lines and are never released. In ath11k_ahb_config_ext_irq(), when an external request_irq() fails, the error is only logged and the loop continues. The function then returns 0 indicating success, leaving the device in a partially configured state where some external IRQs are not registered. This causes enable_irq()/disable_irq()/free_irq() to be called on unregistered IRQs during runtime and remove/shutdown, triggering WARN_ON(!desc->action), and missing interrupt handlers lead to data loss. Additionally, if alloc_netdev_dummy() fails for a later IRQ group, the function returns -ENOMEM without freeing the ext IRQs and napi_ndev that were successfully set up for earlier groups. Fix all three issues: propagate the error up to the caller and unwind all successfully registered IRQs and allocated resources on failure. Also move ab->irq_num[irq_idx] assignment after request_irq() succeeds in the ext IRQ path to match the CE IRQ path and avoid storing a stale IRQ number on failure. 2026-07-31s390/dasd: Fix undersized format-check bufferStefan Haberland1-4/+7
fmt_buffer_size in dasd_eckd_check_device_format() is declared as int, even though one of the multiplicands, sizeof(struct eckd_count), is a size_t. The expression trkcount * rpt_max * sizeof(struct eckd_count) is therefore correctly evaluated at 64-bit width, but the result is silently truncated when it is stored back into the 32-bit fmt_buffer_size variable. For a sufficiently large track range (start_unit/stop_unit are caller-controlled) this truncation yields a buffer size far smaller than the number of tracks actually requested. kzalloc() then succeeds with an undersized allocation, while the subsequent channel program build still operates on the untruncated track count and writes past the end of that buffer. Compute the buffer size with check_mul_overflow() and keep it in a size_t, so that a value that no longer fits results in -EINVAL instead of a silently truncated allocation size. 2026-07-31s390/dasd: Fix path verification interrupted by concurrent ↵Stefan Haberland1-1/+13
dasd_sleep_on_immediatly When all channel paths to a DASD device are lost and subsequently recovered, the path event handler starts one IO per path via dasd_sleep_on_immediatly() to execute read configuration data (RCD) with high priority. dasd_sleep_on_immediatly() works by terminating the currently running request before inserting the new request. If a concurrent caller, such as the attention handler dasd_eckd_check_attention_work() or the summary unit check handler summary_unit_check_handling_work(), also calls dasd_sleep_on_immediatly() while a path verification RCD is in progress, the RCD gets terminated. The problem is that a terminated request transitions from CLEARED to TERMINATED without going through the normal retry path in __dasd_device_process_ccw_queue. The RCD therefore returns -EIO, and the affected paths remain non-operational after recovery. RCD CQRs used for path verification already carry the DASD_CQR_VERIFY_PATH flag. Extend _dasd_term_running_cqr() to check this flag: instead of terminating such a request, return -EAGAIN. In dasd_sleep_on_immediatly(), loop on -EAGAIN with a short sleep, waiting for the path verification request to complete before inserting the new request. This is consistent with the already indefinite wait_event() that dasd_sleep_on_immediatly() uses for its own request, and all other callers (attention handler, summary unit check handler, reserve/release/steal-lock) benefit automatically without requiring changes. When watchdog is enabled at the probe time, the bd96801 driver retrieves the timeout configuration from the registers to set-up the heart-beat values. As Sashiko pointed out at https://lore.kernel.org/all/20260722085819.495211F000E9@smtp.kernel.org/ the timeout values are incorrectly computed in driver, resulting wrong heartbeat. This leads to devere problems if watchdog was enabled at probe time. According to the data-sheet, the "too fast" ping limit is configured as multiple of FASTNG_MIN. Furthermore, the "too slow" ping limit is configured as multiples of "too fast" timeout. The FASTNG_MIN is set to 11, meaning 1.1 mS and "too fast" and "too slow" limits are computed from this. Hence, converting the limits to mS should be done by dividing by 10, not by dividing by USEC_PER_MSEC. Fix this by dividing the timeout values with correct scaling factor. 2026-07-31drm/msm: detach the ARM DMA mapping before attaching our own domainDmitry Baryshkov1-0/+22
On ARM32 with CONFIG_ARM_DMA_USE_IOMMU, arch_setup_dma_ops() creates a dma_iommu_mapping for every IOMMU-backed device and attaches its domain to the device's IOMMU group. That domain is neither the group's default nor its blocking domain, so when msm_iommu_new() later attaches the domain the driver manages itself, __iommu_attach_group() refuses it: if (group->domain && group->domain != group->default_domain && group->domain != group->blocking_domain) return -EBUSY; Both the GPU and the display controller are hit by this on apq8064 (IFC6410), leaving the board with no GPU and no display: adreno 4300000.gpu: failed to load adreno gpu adreno 4300000.gpu: probe with driver adreno failed with error -16 mdp4 5100000.display-controller: [drm:msm_drm_kms_init] *ERROR* failed to load kms mdp4 5100000.display-controller: adev bind failed: -16 Other ARM32 DRM drivers that manage their own domains (tegra, rockchip, exynos) drop the arch mapping first. Do the same in msm_iommu_new(), which both the display and the GPU paths go through. With this the GPU and the KMS device both initialise: [drm] Initialized msm 1.13.0 for 4300000.gpu on minor 0 [drm] Initialized msm-kms 1.13.0 for 5100000.display-controller on minor 1 Assisted-by: Claude:claude-opus-5 Reviewed-by: Konrad Dybcio <konrad.dybcio@oss.qualcomm.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Baryshkov <dmitry.baryshkov@oss.qualcomm.com> Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/743333/ Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20260730-fix-qcom-smmu-v2-3-18e0daf2d836@oss.qualcomm.com
2026-07-31drm/msm/dsi: Drop dev_pm_opp_set_rate(0)Konrad Dybcio1-2/+0
dev_pm_opp_set_rate(0) removes the vote specified in required-opps but does not actually park the clock, making it run without the necessary power backing. Drop the explicit call to it. Every call site of ops->link_clk_disable() is followed by pm_runtime_put(), so the power vote will be rescinded if deemed safe.
